I have started to play drum since the Covid-19 pandemic. I found that the more I played, the more I can appreciate music especially those rhythm aspect. As a result, listening to different genres of song turn out to be enjoyable (before, I’m kinda frame myself toward more pop, rock, anime song mostly). In this article, I list those chunk of phrases that I found creative and worth practice here. You can try to change the BPM so it is easier to listen.

Double bass of 16-th and 32-nd notes. Pretty classic song and the bass drum really shows up in this. Perhaps, good for practicing my double bass….
Super well-known phrase isn’t it?
The most sampled phrase, drum’n bass!
Simple yet classic phrase of 7/4. A small 1/8 swing on the bass drum was included.
Here is one of the most used phrase in Japanese songs (especially Kingnu). The following phrase is picked up from the Verse 2 of Hakujitsu(白日). The double bass sound pumps up a bouncy feeling. Other songs that use this phrase are Vinyl, Cry baby, Giragira (ギラギラ).
This phrase mix 16-beat swing hi-hat with some “pause” to even emphasize more on the bouncy feeling. It was said by the Kingnu’s drummer that the hi-hat is played one-hand.
Backbeat with several mixture of 16-th note, 24-th note (sixth-note). Most satisfied phrase throughout the song (actually the whole song is feaking good, tons of ghost notes)
This phrase was used almost every part in the song “Junjao” by Slot Machine. Its snare drum gives me a kind of running vibe. Maybe similar to train beat some how (Not exactly though).
